In the first, and easier battles, turn auto off by the end of it :P That way you can start the next already guns blazing.

Switch gear to the alive heroes you still have at your disposal.

Also, retry as many times you like.

Remember too that you can use Mercenaries indefinitely in this adventures, if one falls, just return it and ask another from a friend.

A new, and alive, hero to be paired with your team :)
