Desperate search featured 3 stages each having their own bonus to boost the damage inflicted to the boss.
On the positive side, desperate search provides daily reward for each of the attempt being made along with the extra resources once we reached certain damage threshold. No player would refuse this additional rewards.
On the other hand, this would also mean that players will need to invest specifically on the characters that will benefit from the damage boosted only. The characters that are not being boosted could barely inflict any satisfiable results. For example, the bonus damage on tanks greatly boosted their damage yet the performance of other classes such as ranger and technician are severely nerfed. Players who only invested on a specific class or alignment ( to perform better in other event) would quickly find themselves in a very disadvantageous position. As such, the event might be in favor for late game players who already owned massive amount of collections and having no problem employing 15 tanks, 15 technicians, and so on. Last but not least, the prohibition of the borrowed character from our peers simply deter early game or mid game players from participating.
Opinion aside, it is time to provide some guides on this desperate search.
There are three main things that might prove to be helpful; the amount of characters boosted, the importance of support class, and the quality of the boosted character.
First of all, look at the required classes or alignments needed for damage boosted. Then try to get as much characters from those classes or alignments as possible. You need to gradually collect those characters in order to have them in all of your active 3 teams required to fight the boss. Preferably speaking, having at least 2 damage boosted character for each team is a good start. After that, utilize the training ground and share the level with these characters and you are good to go.
Second of all, the significant of employing the support class is another factor to be considered. From my experience, having a good healer proved to be less significant as your characters would get pulverized by the boss after certain point. Therefore, the main focus should be on those that helped fill up the skill gauges or boosted the team attributes. In other word, focus on making the characters triggered more damage and skills as possible.
Third of all, you will notice that some boosted characters significantly inflicted more damage to the boss. Focus on these characters; invest on their gears, exclusive weapons, unlock more of their skills etc. The goal is to make them tougher and deal more damage until the time runs out.
All in all, these aforementioned tips will potentially help you obtain the much needed damage and let you leverage your competitiveness against other players.
