Developer's Note <Suggestion Feedback & 1.5 Update News>

Happy Friday, This is Executive Producer HAND.

 

Has it been about 2 weeks? We would like to give feedback about some suggestions left on the previous Dev Note. We were touched to find all the words of encouragement on Dev Note comments. We will continue our effort to satisfy survivors.

 

We are here to let players know about feedbacks that are being implemented. We also have news of 1.5 Update.

 

<Suggestion Feedback>

Many players shared their thoughts on potential improvements to the game. We are thankful for players' interest in the game, but we are also worried about many things we need to solve. It took some time to compile the feedback, but we prepared some responses.

 

1. We want to change buff types on gears (Applied on 1.5 Update)

It is great to get Legendary or higher gears. Even better when you get the right buff type(alignment). However, it can be disappointing if you don't get the buff type you want. I also experience this in-game. I put the gear on my characters but I am not sure about enhancing it. While we had internal plans about a function to change buff type, we decided to make it happen faster since a lot of players wanted it. We prepared Gear Alignment Ticket that can randomly change the buff type of gear. Gear Alignment Tickets can be obtained through Weekly Quests/Events/Perks. Please note that Gear Alignment Ticket will become available through Weekly Quest once players clear Stage 15-40.

 

2. We would like more frequent updates. (Applied on 1.5 Update)

Previously, we prepared a lot of content for each update, which created 4 weeks terms between updates. In order to bring updates more frequently, we plan to bring what we have ready for each update and prepare an update every 2 weeks.

However, we need survivors' understanding of one thing as we bring more frequent updates. We initially planned to finish the Personal Gear update with the second part of the update. Instead, we plan to bring whatever Personal Gears we have ready with the update next week, and bring the rest of the Personal Gear in the update 2 weeks after next week's update.

We are bringing Personal Gears for Predator/Warlord Attributes, and Bystander Personal Gears will be updated on October 10th. For the update on October 10th, we plan to bring Personal Gears(Bystander), new Survival Records, and a new survivor Yumiko.

 

3. We need to reduce repetitive content and add new content.

This is a very tricky question. I believe this has been a constant challenge for many developers.

We received some feedback asking to reduce daily tasks such as Supply Run, but there was also feedback asking us to add more floors to the Supply Run. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. Instead, I believe it depends on how we position our game in terms of its genre. For now, since it hasn't been that long since TWD: All-Stars launched, we have more content on the way and we also plan on introducing new events. We will try to figure out how to reduce the fatigue that players build toward existing content by the time new content arrives. We don't have a detailed plan yet, but we wanted to share our direction.

 

Here are some responses to other feedbacks:

*We are improving our build so that it can play battle replays that took place in different build versions.

 

*Please prepare more events > We will be adding 3 new events. Community Managers will be taking care of community events and coupons.

 

*Please make more skin > We aim to release a new skin around the end of October or early November. It is taking some time since we have to come up with a skin design that would fit TWD IP.

 

*Is there any plan for collaboration? > Collaborating with different IP is a little complicated as we cannot introduce aspects of different IP to TWD IP. We will let the community know when we have a good news.

 

* Reducing Recruit Cost/Increasing Event Reward > We will try to prepare more events that give Recruit materials as rewards.

 

*Function to claim all quest rewards > This function is under development. We will let the community know once we have the final schedule for the update.

 

 

 

<Last Man Standing>

There seems to be some questions about Last Man Standing (LMS), which is one of the biggest content of 1.5v. I would like to respond to some of the concerns around LMS from the last Dev. Note!

First of all, we plan to run a Beta Season before introducing the official season. We have been preparing this content for a long time and ran multiple internal tests, but since it is not verified in the live build, I thought it would be necessary to monitor its stability. Let's take a look at the basics of LMS.

 

1. LMS Concept

Valuable supplies are located in this area. Not everyone would dare to go in, and powerful opponents determined to fight till death are waiting for you. While most people won't be able to enter this area, they wait for the victor betting on who will survive. Those that enter engage in a battle in each area. The winner proceeds to the inner area.

LMS is where players can watch other top survivors' intense battles. While the participants eligible for this content are limited, those who cannot participate can also enjoy the content by betting on who will survive. Players will obtain double the resource they bet if they bet on the right survivor.

 

2. LMS Rules

- LMS Period: Once every 2 weeks, becomes available for around 5 days.

- Schedule for each game (UTC): Formation setting (~09:00), Formation lock (09:00 ~ 12:00), Battle (12:00 ~ 13:00)

- Unlock condition: Available upon unlocking "Frontier Outskirts"

- LMS Qualifying Round: Top 10 survivors with the most Center of the Frontier points in the previous season.

- LMS Cheer Betting: Available to all survivors who unlocked LMS

 

3. How Last Man Standing Works

Multiple servers are grouped as a Zone. After qualifying round for each zone of top 40 survivors, the tournament will be held from the round of 16 to the final. The season will end when a winner is determined for each Zone.

 

<Participating Players>

For survivors ranked from 1 ~ 10 in Center of the Frontier participating in the LMS, we suggest setting up the formation during the qualifier prep period. The Formation can only consist of characters that are Legendary or higher tier, and a total of 3 teams are required. LMS-specific rules are applied to characters that have been assigned to the formation.

By completing the formation, the battle will automatically proceed according to the fixed schedule, and survivors can check the battle results and details through the replay function after the battle ends. If the battle end due to a timeout, the winner will be determined by the number of surviving character on the field. If the same number of characters remain, the user with the higher combined HP of the remaining characters wins the battle. Survivors can also receive a special border that can be used in your profile in the Proof of Mastery as a reward.

 

<Betting User>

The Betting system is available from the round of 16, and cheer bet is allowed on only one participant per match in Round of 16 / Quarterfinals / Semifinals / Finals. Survivors will use canned food equivalent to 48 hours of the auto-search as their betting token, and if the participant you decided to cheer for wins, you will get back twice the number of cans spent. Unfortunately, if the participant you decided to root for loses, you lose the bet.

 

<Regarding Beta Season>

As mentioned above, since this is top-tier PvP content, we plan to operate as a beta season to prevent any inconvenience and frustration which could be caused by potential issues and errors from the content. Please note that all records during the beta season will rest when the official season begins.

Please be advised that the participant rewards (Proof of Mastery) cannot be obtained during the beta season, and if any critical error is identified during the beta season, we may stop the season immediately. We want to assure you that all our staff in charge will monitor the trend throughout the whole season to prevent the above.

We plan to run a total of two LMS beta seasons. The official season will take place from Saturday to Wednesday, but since the update is planned for Monday, the first match of the beta season will begin on Tuesday to Saturday. Please refer to the below schedule to have a general idea of this content.

In addition, in the case of the first Beta season, the rankings are determined based on pre-calculated points from the center of the frontier. We highly suggest all survivors participate in Center of the Frontier before the season ends this week.

 

Please take a closer look at the Last Man Standing Beta Season, we highly suggest all participants that go on the qualifying round and round of 16 to try out setting your team and spectate other battles to prepare for the official season.

Also, for players who did not get to participate but make cheering bets, we will fully support the amount to bet so that you can get a full hand-on experience of the first Beta season! Canned food is required for betting and it will be provided to your mailbox daily. We hope every survivor to experience the Last Man Standing with an open heart and enjoy what we prepared!

Oh, one more note to share! Since the market inspection on both the app store and google play was approved earlier than we expected, our scheduled maintenance moved up from 9/27 (PDT) to 9/26 (PDT)! See you again with future Dev. Notes!
