Developer's Note <1.10 Update News>

Greetings, Developer HAND here!

The upcoming 1.10 Update took a little longer than usual, so it’s been a while since the last time I shared the details of an update with you all.

If you’ve already read the 1.10 Preview, then shall we briefly check out what I’ve got prepared for you?

1. New Character

A new Predator character, Stalker Whisperer, has joined as a new Survivor.

The Stalker Whisperer is an unknown being in the TWD: All-Stars team that has been newly created based on the Whisperers in the original story.  After a prolonged discussion with Skybound, we’ve come up with the name “Stalker Whisperer”  as to not interfere with the originality of The Walking Dead series as much as possible.

The Stalker Whisperer appears as a Predator STR character (Tank) – same as Alpha and Beta in the Predator Alignment.  I hope you all enjoy what the Stalker Whisperer has to offer and try the character in the Mysterious Survivor content.

2. Predator/Bystander Benefit Open

Through the 1.10 Update, a new, third Benefit is finally being added.  The Predator and Bystander Alignments will be added to the Benefit system.  After that, the Warlord Alignment will be added during the second 1.10 Update. Therefore, by the end of all the updates in 1.10, all Alignments will be available in the Benefit system. We apologize for keeping you waiting by adding the Alignments sequentially.

After looking through the comments and inquiries about the red dot effects that appear due to the unavailability of placing your favorite characters onto the wish list, I wanted to share with you all the reason behind why we had to decide on sequentially adding the Alignments to the Benefit system. The Benefit system allows each and every character to obtain a special skill/buff, and so it takes a long time to test the validity of the benefits and their effectiveness. If we were to release all of the Alignments at once, then the quality of each Exclusive Benefit Effect will be mediocre at best. Therefore, we ask that you be patient with us a little bit more, so that we could provide you with characters with better Benefit Effects for each character.

3. Advertisements

A new Ad system has been added to TWD: All-Stars. Through the new Ad system, you may earn additional rewards from Auto Search, Normal Recruit, Head Hunt, Perks, Quests, etc. The free recruitment you earn from watching an Ad still counts as a regular recruit, so the mileage will accumulate as well.

4. Improvements

There will be a few adjustments and improvements to the functions of the game. I believe many will find these changes as good news and so that is why I was breathing down the neck of our developers a bit this time

There will now be a function in the Joint Combat where you can annihilate the battle by the number of times you choose. Before the update, a single annihilation was possible every time you pressed the button; however, now you can choose to annihilate the combat more than once at the press of a button.

We are also improving the way you obtain the chests from the Quests section. We realize that it’s only a minor difference to some of you, but we made it possible so that you don’t need to press all the chests that you have obtained from completing the quests and rather click a single button to collect them all.

The Pass also received an improvement, in that, the “collect all” button can now be used to collect a single reward as well. Before the update, the button to collect all was only available when you had more than one reward to collect, which made you scroll all the way down to collect a reward if there is only a single reward to collect.

Apart from the improvements above, there are 2 new events that are incoming. Through the 1.10 Update, one of the two events is a new purchase event which we would like to notify you in advance because we fear some of you might get disappointed.

Total VIP EXP Event will be available for users who have created an account and have made in-app purchases in the last 15 days. The event will give additional rewards to users depending on the VIP EXP earned through those purchases (VIP EXP earned through gameplay will not be counted). We intend to open up the event to all users once implemented. By doing so, some of you may think - ‘I didn’t see the event when I created my account before’ or ‘what about the money I have spent so far?’ We thought about applying the pre-existing users’ purchase records of their first 15 days after creating the account; however, there will also be complications with that as well.

We then thought, ‘how about applying the last 30 days of purchases?’. However, there probably will be players who have spent more before the last 30 days, so that wasn’t an option. Therefore, we’ve decided to apply all of the VIP EXP you’ve earned through purchases ever since the launch in the KR server for the event, so that you can earn the rewards for your previous purchases. All purchases made before the 1.10 Update will be applicable and we will distribute rewards to everyone with the accumulated data. We then hope to start anew with everyone as if 1.10 Update is indicating a whole rest collectively. It’s been roughly 8 months ever since the launch, so there is quite a lot of data to process. The distribution will take time, but we will thoroughly examine the data and make it possible so that everyone receives their rightful rewards through the accumulated purchases event. We wish to not disappoint any of our users who have already made in-app purchases, and no one should ever be left out. We simply ask that you be patient with us as we sort our data.

As mentioned above, the second 1.10 Update will include the Warlord Alignment for the Benefit system. Along with the addition to the Benefit system, a new character, Blaine, will be joining us as well. A new Survival Record, “Doing What’s Right”, will also be included and a new “Asyl Quiz” event will be prepared.

Last but not least, here are some hints about the 1.11 Update:

A new mode is being prepared for the Survival Record content – Challenge Mode. There will be various de-buffs in this mode and three different difficulties will be available. The rewards will be hefty in this new content, so we hope you are all excited. Moreover, there will be a new “Survivor Ranking” system where you can see for yourself which characters are used the most in various contents!

We will work diligently for the upcoming update and will continue to do so for the 1.11 Update as well.

This is it for today! I will be back with another Developer’s Note in March.

Thank you!
